My question was: did you define a path for your Domino server to sned internet mail? It appears the answer is no. Do you want Domino to send internet mail? I am assuming YES, but I think your methodology is flawed.
I feel the path (debruin@philadelphia@SMTP@exchange) of having an internet address piggy back via the exchange connector is a bad way to go as well. The above address is not a legal exchange address and the purpose of the exchange connector to send messages from Lotus Notes to exchange; to wit, a final destination of exchange. Secondly, it opens your corporate environment for spamming and relay via the connector.
What I am not reading is that your environment will allow (is allowing) your exchange server to relay internet mail. You can have exchange allow the Domino server ipaddress and Domino will relay that email out to the internet via the relay server.
HTH -- Cheers
